Novel in Progress Spring 2017

Registration is closed for this event
Moving from story development to drafting can be a daunting task, not unlike challenging a hydra. No matter how well plotted or researched, once you start writing, you’ll run into pitfalls. For every plot hole or character dilemma you fix, three more appear. And writing is not just about putting words on the page. There’s finding time to write, overcoming doubt, busting through blocks, and sustaining enthusiasm over many lonely weeks or months. Novel in Progress is designed to keep you on track and help you overcome those pitfalls. This workshop will support both the writing and the writer with lessons in craft, goal setting, and with inspiration/commiseration/celebration/cheer leading/gentle cajoling as needed to help you stay on track. Everyone will read one novel over the course of the workshop as model text to discuss craft elements.
