Your Own Hero’s Journey: Recording the Epic Story of Your Life

Mine your life for the gems that make up your unique tale. This class will guide you through the steps of recording your own epic story. Staring from identifying obstacles that changed you to a compelling resolution where you can share the wisdom you’ve gained. The process is suitable for both nonfiction and fiction writers of all levels of experience. We will read both classic archetypal journeys and modern interpretations to familiarize ourselves with the universality of struggle and the writer’s urge to make meaning out of it.

Bronwynn Dean has an MFAW from Goddard College. She has written a non-fiction essay collection called Potted: A Cultivated Life, which examines the evolution of marijuana culture and her development in relation to weed. She teaches non-fiction classes through Wordcrafters, is a cofounder of the writing group The Stonecutters Union, and serves as the nonfiction editor for Clockhouse.
