Wordcrafters Camp Counselors

J.C. Geiger has eaten the beating heart of a snake, been deported from a full-moon party, and spent a short time locked in a Bolivian prison. He also writes fiction. His short works have appeared in the pages of Murky Depths and Horror Garage, and onstage at The Second City in Chicago. His debut novel WILDMAN will be released by Disney-Hyperion in May, 2017.

In addition to writing, J.C. is the Artistic Director of No Shame Eugene Theatre and the proud owner of a legendary 1968 Gerstenslager bookmobile which will undoubtedly lead to ill-advised exploits and cross-country adventures.


Nina Kiriki HoffmanOver the past thirty years, Nina Kiriki Hoffman has sold adult and YA novels and more than 250 short stories. Her works have been finalists for the World Fantasy, Mythopoeic, Sturgeon, Philip K. Dick, and Endeavour awards. Her first novel, The Thread that Binds the Bones, won a Stoker award in 1994, and her short story “Trophy Wives” won a Nebula Award in 2009.  Nina does production work for the Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction. She teaches a short story writing class through her local community college, and she works with teen writers. She lives in Eugene, Oregon.


Sallie VandagriftSallie Vandagrift first set foot on Oregon soil 18 years ago, fresh from California. After a week of drinking coffee in a northwest cafe, reading, and scribbling constantly in her notebook, she knew she could never go back to living any other way. She is a literary fiction and creative nonfiction writer, teacher, and a mother of five. Her short stories have appeared in The Sun, and Coffee Talk. She is currently studying Comparative Literature and Creative Writing at University of Oregon. Sallie has taught writing with the Young Writers Association Lively Lit Summer Camps and with YWA’s Mess With Words after school group.


Sarina Dorie

Sarina Dorie has worked as an English teacher and copy editor overseas, joined her first critique group when she was sixteen, and has been a member of Willamette Writers and Romance Writers of America for years. Sarina’s novel, Silent Moon (published by Soulmate Publishing), won second place in the Duel on the Delta Contest, second place in the Golden Rose, third place in the Winter Rose Contest and third in the Ignite the Flame Contest. Her unpublished novel, Wrath of the Tooth Fairy, won first place in the Golden Claddagh and in the Golden Rose contests. She has sold short stories to over thirty magazines and anthologies including Fantasy and Science Fiction Magazine, Daily Science Fiction, Cosmos, Penumbra, Sword and Laser, Perihelion, Bards and Sages, Neo-Opsis, Flagship, Allasso, New Myths, Untied Shoelaces of the Mind, and Crossed Genres to name a few.
